騎士21日客場出征公鹿，兩隊鏖戰至延長賽才分出勝負，靠著「小皇帝」LeBron James終場前24秒的大號三分球破網，騎士擺脫公鹿糾纏，最終以114比108帶走勝利。

正規賽倒數2分鐘時，騎士還握有7分領先，沒想到公鹿展開絕地反攻，Jabari Parker第四節終了前15秒放進2分成功追平比數，騎士最後一擊交由Kyrie Irving操刀但未能命中，雙方進入延長加賽。

進入延長賽的James不再假手於他人，發球後將球要回手中，三分線外兩大步直接跳投出手，漂亮投進逆轉三分，公鹿隨後犯規戰術無法奏效，只能在主場飲恨輸球。

總計James全場拿下34分12籃板7助攻，單場命中5記三分球為本季新高，賽後James表示：「我平常就會練習這種投籃，加上我今天手感還不錯，我相信我平常練習的成果，所以我出手了、然後就進了。」

當時防守James的Parker則說：「他（James）可是世界上最強的籃球員，他才不會管那投籃距離有多遠，你必須尊敬他這一點。」Parker拿下公鹿全隊最高30分，並抓下9籃板。

除了James之外，騎士以Irving拿下28分表現最佳，另外替補上陣的Channing Frye則拿下15分。

「希臘怪物」Giannis Antetokounmpo攻下25分13籃板，在James投進超前三分前是他的切入讓公鹿取得領先，可惜最後球隊無法守成。
